The Initiative Black People in Germany publishes together with the organizations of the European Network Meeting for People of African Descent & Black Europeans a demand catalogue before the elections to the European Parliament in May 2014.
The demand catalogue is ready to be downloaded from the ISD website
From the 13th to the 16th February 2014 the Initiative Black People in Germany organized in collaboration with the European Network against Racism (ENAR) the European Network Meeting for People of African Descent & Black Europeans in Berlin. More than 15 advocacy groups from Europe drafted a demand catalogue prior to the elections of the European Parliament in May 2014. The catalogue has been finalized and is available for download from the ISD’s website.
The demand catalogue offers the opportunity for Black people to highlight and point out their realities in Europe. Black communities and allies are asked to use the catalogue as a point of reference and to approach candidates for the elections to the European Parliament actively. Thereby the collective dimension of Black realities should be linked to individual experiences. The writing of the catalogue showed that racism in Europe often has similar repercussions.
Based on the demand catalogue, electoral benchmarks have been generated and been sent to the parties in the European Parliament. The answers can be used as an orientation for the elections and will also serve as a benchmarking-tool for the next legislation period.
Beside the networking within the Black community and the support of several projects, the ISD represents the interests of Black people in society and politics.
